Harvesting the energies of sun, water, wind and using them in sustainable ways makes sense in terms of climate change, peak oil, and personal resiliency. How do you know which are right for your property?
Analysing your current energy systems, your energy use and the efficiency of your home is a good place to start. We’ll discuss the latest in solar energy capture and storage. Also solar ovens, solar hot water, wind, micro hydro and wood. Which one (s) would be best for your property and lifestyle? We’ll also learn about transportation alternatives like electric cars and bikes. You’ll see alternate technologies like rocket stoves and solar dehydrators.
Neville, as a permaculture educator with a history with international finance, offers a unique take on how you can be more resilient by designing your personal “Ark”.
The afternoon field trip is to two nearby properties, very different couples, both using renewable energy and both keen on being as resilient as possible.
