Summer\, is the best time to collect and root “soft” cuttings (sage\, salvias\, scented geraniums) and some “semi-hardwood” cuttings (lavender\, rosemary\, Chilean guava). Once we get to Autumn\, we are dividing of plants like rhubarb\, comfrey\, mint\, thyme and berry canes\, with more “semi-hardwood cuttings.” \nTree propagation will also be covered.  You’ll learn about grafting theory and get practical experience using a grafting tool; rootstock production of apple and quince; how to grow rootstocks by mound layering; and how peaches and plums can be grown from seeds. \nTwo dates to choose from for Propagation of Spring Seeds\nDue to everyone’s busy schedules\, we’ll be running parallel and identical Saturday and Tuesday courses. (Tuesday hours\, 9:30-2:30\, intended to be parent-friendly) \nSaturday 14 September 2019\nTuesday 17 September 2019 \nRegister for Understanding Soils 1 and other Garden Essentials workshops here >> \n URL:http://plentypermaculture.co.nz/event/propagation-of-spring-seeds-sat-14-sept-or-tues-17-sept/ LOCATION:Plenty Permaculture\, 375 Whakamarama Rd\, Tauranga\, BOP\, 3179\, New Zealand CATEGORIES:Garden Essentials Workshops GEO:-37.7093107;176.0018286 X-APPLE-STRUCTURED-LOCATION;VALUE=URI;X-ADDRESS=Plenty Permaculture 375 Whakamarama Rd Tauranga BOP 3179 New Zealand;X-APPLE-RADIUS=500;X-TITLE=375 Whakamarama Rd:geo:176.0018286,-37.7093107 END:VEVENT END:VCALENDAR
