Summer\, is the best time to collect and root “soft” cuttings (sage\, salvias\, scented geraniums) and some “semi-hardwood” cuttings (lavender\, rosemary\, Chilean guava). Once we get to Autumn\, we are dividing of plants like rhubarb\, comfrey\, mint\, thyme and berry canes\, with more “semi-hardwood cuttings.” \nTree propagation will also be covered.  You’ll learn about grafting theory and get practical experience using a grafting tool; rootstock production of apple and quince; how to grow rootstocks by mound layering; and how peaches and plums can be grown from seeds. \nTwo dates to choose from for Propagation – Autumn Semi-Hardwood\nDue to everyone’s busy schedules\, we’ll be running parallel and identical Saturday and Tuesday courses. (Tuesday hours\, 9:30-2:30\, intended to be parent-friendly) \nSaturday 28 March 2020\nTuesday 31 March 2020 \nRegister for this workshop and other Garden Essentials workshops here >> \n URL:http://plentypermaculture.co.nz/event/propagation-autumn-semi-hardwood-sat-28-mar-or-tues-31-mar-2020/ CATEGORIES:Garden Essentials Workshops END:VEVENT END:VCALENDAR
